Illinois producer Lorn returns with a new full-length on June 18th which will be his debut for Ninja Tune. We’re fans of his debut ‘Nothing Else’ album on Brainfeeder from a couple of years ago, but his sound has inevitably moved on from what he describes as ‘cold and strict’ into something that is ‘haunted, oily, and smeared’ on ‘Ask The Dust’. The album, which is named after a classic beat novel by John Fante from back in the thirties, apparently has more organic energy to it, with Lorn employing his own singing voice on a number of tracks, which should definitely bring something interesting to his beautifully constructed brutalism.
