The debut ‘Midday Sun’ EP from colo and is out now on all formats through TAKE Records and it’s definitely worth a look if it slipped under the radar. Featuring four excellent tracks of under stated 2-step rhythms from a couple of classically trained producers who work mostly with contemporary eighties equipment, the release has been described variously as ‘electronica with dance floor sensibilities’ and ‘an eloquent collection of contemporary UK electronic music’. There’s more on the way apparently, and here they transform the hard skanking vibe of the title track from last year’s Sounds Of Sumo released ‘Lost In Treme’ EP by Kry Wolf into a warm and nicely rounded, low-end jam that’s not too far away from the music featured on their own release.
