We we’re first introduced to Irish duo John Kowalski and Rian Trench otherwise known as Solar Bears a couple of years back through their excellent ‘Inner Sunshine’ EP on Planet Mu. Their music at the time was described as ‘warm and organic with a languid, pastoral grace that intertwines acoustic and rock instruments with electronics’, but in a recent interview they indicated that the thirteen tracks that make up their upcoming ‘Supermigration’ album will be more hard hitting than their debut ‘mainly because of playing live more..we have been experimenting with new styles and treatments’. You can hear some of the material in a recent Boiler Room set, and here the duo remix a track from last months ‘Royal Horticultural Society’ EP by David Douglas.
