After his Alt-J remix at the beginning of the year, London producer Romare has turned his attention to Dublin band Kodaline, with a reworking of the title track from their forthcoming ‘High Hopes’ single. Romare himself will follow up a well received debut release on Black Acre with the four-track ‘Love Songs : Part One’ EP which is out via the Bristol label on March 25th. Much like ‘Meditations On Afrocentrism’, a collage of vintage, soulful samples mix with snappy footwork, hip hop and breakbreat rhythms to craft what has been called ‘a thesis on the classic love song drawing influences from archaeological knowledge of yesterday’s sounds’.
