Words Collided

The complex ‘GLAQJO XAACSSO’ debut album by patten on No Pain In Pop has been described as ‘raw, heady and visceral’ or ‘a truly unique and all-enveloping experience’ and it’s mix of leftfield early house and techno, shoegaze and post punk has been garnering comparisons with Nathan Fake, Clark and Actress. An accompanying five-track remix EP that was recently put out saw each remixer get parts of a finished track, but no stems and no full track to compare against, with a view to ‘passing the fragments like bits of code divorced from the full program…see what gets retained, what comes through’. It’s available for download here and includes this remix by The Slow Revolt which adds some vocals and takes things down the more direct deeper house route.
