The Room Below

During the recording of last year’s ‘Rapping With Paul White’ album on One Handed Music that featured the likes of Danny Brown, Guilty Simpson, Jehst and Homeboy Sandman, Henry Keen was occupying the studio directly underneath Paul White’s and heard the album take shape. After helping with the vocals for Homeboy Sandman’s collaboration ‘A Weird Day’, he embarked on the ambitious electronic covers project The Room Below Versions featuring analogue interpretations inspired by the original songs. Described as ‘a heavy analogue electronics rap record with not a sample in sight’, everything is entirely replayed on drum machines and synths, and the inclusion of some self-penned interludes help to give a unique flavour to an album that’s recently been made available for free download here.
