Out Of Time

London production trio Simon Williams, Will Horrocks and Gerv Jordan, collectively know as LV have always had a global slant to their music and their forthcoming ‘Sebenza’ album on Hyperdub concentrates on South African rhythms over fourteen tracks that provide a meeting point between uk funky and kwaito house, while at the same time detouring into soca, kuduro, afro-garage, grime and electro hip-hop. They just put together the latest guest mix for Brownswood that makes for an interesting listen, and is described as ‘tracks we love but don’t often get to play to people…it’s not club music…but it is bangin in its own way…there’s a mixture of older bits and contemporary bits, and while they’re not all from the same musical place…these tunes are united in their power to make us laugh or cry or stare wistfully into space’.
