Practice Of Purity

Originally set up to put out vinyl releases from artists they loved, the London-based label left_blank label comprising John Connon, Patrick Hanrahan and Ross Tones aka Throwing Snow has made a natural shift into releasing what has been described as ‘the slightly stranger, skewed and smudged area of dance music’. Following releases from El Kid, Visionist, Myown and a couple from Vessel that included his debut ‘Nylon Sunset’ twelve inch, the aesthetic certainly looks like continuing with the forthcoming ‘Stoic’ EP courtesy of the new electronic music project WIFE by James Kelly, who forms the main part of Irish black metal band Altar of Plagues. Out on November 12th, the track ‘Bodies’ has got an interesting video which recently premiered at Pitchfork, and has been accurately summarised in some quarters as ‘a ritual of dirt, spit and skin’.
