To Make Rough

Busy London based producer Ross Tones better known as Throwing Snow follows up this summer’s well received inaugural  ‘Clamor’ EP on his newly minted Snowfall label with the ‘Aspera’ EP on December 3rd. As with it’s predecessor, the title is taken from a Latin translation, this time meaning ‘to make rough’, which apparently provides an apt description for the aesthetic of the four tracks that make up the release. And if the broad, bass-heavy cinematic strokes of the title track are anything to go by, then we could be in for another unique collection of left-leaning inventive rhythms and textures in keeping with the label’s ‘anything goes’ remit, while still retaining Tones’ trademark production.
