Boundary Sound

More associated with dance hall and soca rhythms on Ninja Tune, Montreal producer Poirier recently revealed his Boundary project with a thirteen track self-released collection of minimalist ambient and techno that marks a return to his ambient electronic beginnings. Described as ‘dark cinematic electronic music from the cold north’, the album explores hard hitting minimalistic soundscapes, ‘channeling the spirit of classic IDM, ambient and techno’, and while the early noughties Warp catalogue is an obvious touchstone, the atmosphere is underpinned by some of the rhythm’s the producer has become known for. ‘Boundary’ is streaming here.
