Where You Live

Berlin based Gold Panda recently announced his second album will be out on June 10th through his own NOTOWN label and Ghostly International. Almost three years since the debut ‘Lucky Shiner’ long player, ‘Half Of Where You Live’ is the result of the producer’s experiences touring the world and absorbing the influences he found in London, Sao Paulo and Tokyo. Described as a ‘city album’, the release is loosely based around his own reflections on modern city living and the issues contained within, with a soundtrack that he describes as ‘a jump from location to location… I felt like I was stealing a piece of each place I went to’. Nineties anime and the films of controversial director Takashi Miike are also cited as influences, with each of the eleven tracks possessing a different aesthetic, aimed at reflecting each different environment.
