Metal On Oxtongue

Having previously only put out material from Old Apparatus and respective individual members, Sullen Tone is branching out in a fashion with the Saa project from A. Levitas and Linn Carin Dirdal, and the Khing Kang King collaboration between Old Apparatus member LTO (responsible for the ‘Realise’ EP) and mystic rapper Mowgli, who previously teamed up with the collective on an EP for Deep Medi a couple of years ago. ‘IOA’ is out now and ‘exists in a bewitching interzone between abstract sound poetry, dense wordplay and electronic hip-hop’ with themes derived from magickal texts over four original tracks that feature concrete rhythms and intense wordplay. ‘Metal on Oxtongue’ is probably the most recognisable as an Old Appartaus production, and it’s complemented by a video courtesy of Benjamin Winston that draws heavily on some esoteric themes.
