A Sequence Of Remixes

nr5

Following the first release of the ‘Reprogram’ series of free downloads from Dutch label Fremdtunes that we reported on at the end of last month, we have great pleasure in premiering the next instalment of the ongoing remix and artwork project. As with all the remixes, number five in the series features a track from a previous Fremdtunes release, and this time around ‘Butler Hospital’ from the ‘Sketchybook’ EP by the new FilthyBroke project of US producer Michael J Collins (Wolf+Lamb, Fabric, K7, etc) gets the remix treatment from Kool DJ Mace, aka Fremdkumst aka half of Fremdtunes, Rogier van Hout. Taking inspiration from ‘Play That Beat’ by G.L.O.B.E & Whiz Kid, hip-hop, new wave, punk, jazz and nu-soul converge over a steady beat for a remix described as ‘like a mental case with a groove’. Swedish graphic designer Gijs Weijer provides that artwork for this particular individual release, and the whole album will be available via Bandcamp on November 23rd.
