Endless View Point

After his excellent collaboration with Prefuse73 as Sons of The Morning on Yellow Year Records, Mtendere Mandowa aka Teebs will return to the Brainfeeder stable for the ‘Estara’ sophomore album in April. Taking it’s name from the house in which the majority of the release was recorded, the meaning of which translates as ‘to be’ in Spanish (moreover where someone is at – physically or mentally – at a specific moment), the first full-length since ‘Ardour’ some four year’s ago features plenty of the pastoral, warm melodies, rustling rhythms and gauzy atmospherics you might expect from a Teebs release. Things have obviously evolved, though, and the twelve tracks are presented as a more cohesive whole, expanding on earlier ideas, with guest spots from Jonti, Populous and Lars Horntveth, as well as something with Prefuse73.
