Submerse In Sleep

The ‘Algorithms & Ghosts’ and ‘Melonkoly’ EP releases on Project Mooncircle by London based beat-maker submerse were described as ‘a rounded showcase of crisp, low-slung beats and dreamy melodies’ and ‘a lopsided, blissful slice of stuttery hip-hop’. Both love letters to Tokyo, the first was essentially a celebrative reflection of living within the different environs of the city that Rob Orme then inhabited, whereas the second seemed to be a more contemplative parting shot to the place. While we anticipate the next collection of meticulous beat patterns and emotive deep textures, Orme has put together a soothing, beatless selection of material from the likes of Cinematique, A Winged Victory For The Sullen and William Basinski, plus something from the recent ‘Uplifting Themes For the Naysayer’ album by Walrus Ghost on Project Mooncircle.
