The Industrial Sadness

784

The musical works of the ethereal MOON ZERO project from London-based Tim Garratt are composed and recorded entirely in churches, and it’s a case of the setting directly influencing the music; as Garratt himself explains : ‘there is a sad solitude of being alone in a large room, and as an atheist I find no comfort in the doctrine that surrounds me’. Imbued with a feeling of isolation and termed an exploration of the harmonic chaos of competing frequencies, the music of MOON ZERO will see a second EP titled ‘LOSS’ get a release through Denovali Records next month. Whereas it’s predecessor ‘TOMBS’ was concerned with exploring melody in an ambient space, the follow up looks at pulse and movement in sound, cheerily exploring the end and decay of life cycles. Available on vinyl and double CD, the second disc includes the first EP release plus remixes thereof, previously only available on a limited edition cassette.
