The Silent Ascent

A couple of months ago the title track from the ‘Silent Ascent’ album by Downliners Sekt surfaced, and now the twelve track collection has officially been released through InFiné. It’s the first full length offering since the enigmatic Barcelona duo’s ‘Meet The Decline’ on Disboot almost three years ago, and while it largely follows the same streamlined and less experimental ideas in evidence on last year’s InFiné released ‘Balt Shakt’ EP, it’s nonetheless a finely constructed and rhythmically complex album of deeply absorbing material. With it’s foundations built on dubstep and garage templates, it’s been described as ‘the pair’s most fully realised work to date, filtering shadowy techno and bass through an intimate, elegantly decayed aesthetic’.
