Beyond The Black Sun

After concentrating on the darker, grittier, more club-orientated side of things for the first of it’s ten year anniversary compilations, the second commemorative volume from Hyperdub, which is due out towards the end of next month, will have more of a song-based focus featuring both old and new contributions from the label’s roster. Put together to ‘cast some sunshine over Hyperdub’s dread filled reputation, showcasing an underrated cast of talented songwriters, vocalists and producers’, the release features, among other things, an unreleased track from Dean Blunt & Inga Copeland, a collaboration between Morgan Zarate, vocalist Eska and Ghostface Killah, Dam-Funk guesting on something from Ikonika, and label boss Kode9 teaming up with the aforementioned Copeland. There’s also something from the upcoming Fhloston Paradigm album, and Jessy Lanza has also written something new with ‘Pull My Hair Back’ co-producer Jeremy Greenspan. [via]
