Elemental Exchange

Belfast based Rudimetary Records recently put out the ‘Bismuth’ twelve inch from Cosmic Bridge affiliate Danny Scrilla which continued the Berlin producers exploration into cinematic bass heavy sounds, with the slowfast rhythms and intricate beats of the title track complementing the epic deep-space sounds of ‘Lone Ranger’. To mark the occasion he put together the first Mix Exchange for the label with like-minded French producer Moresounds, comprising a couple of mixes made up solely of material from each respective artist, plus an interview session with each party posing questions to the the about influences and motivations, etc. The second in the series has just arrived featuring London based Touchy Subject from the cardboardboss collective and African producer H-SIK, with the former providing some dub-heavy bass weight and the latter offering up some angular hyper-rhythms that you might be familiar with from his Black Acre releases. You can listen below, but we encourage you to visit Mix Exchange for the full piece with tracklist’s and interviews.
