Prove That You Exist

3o Glasgow based LuckyMe’s resident Ambient producer Claude Speeed, who you might recognize from his work with American Men or the remix of ‘We Are You In The Future’ by Martyn among other things, has just released his debut ‘My Skeleton’ album. Written on a netbook during a period of extensive travelling through the Far East following a family bereavement, the eleven tracks that make up the release – described by the label as ‘a deliberate, dreamlike work about structures, economy, memory and loss’ – were completed back in Berlin, a place which Speeed now calls home. The resulting mix of sweeping orchestral arrangements and drone-like structures have obvious reference points such as the work of Steve Reich and Phillip Glass, something the man himself admits in a recent track-by-track account of the album over at Dummy.
