Movements In Mechanica

Some months ago Canterbury based electronic artist Maria Sullivan self released the five-track ‘Mechanica’ EP under the guise of Koloto through Bandcamp. Described elsewhere a ‘masterpiece of exploded clockwork and video game atmospherics’, the deeply melodic mix of electronic beats and organic textures inhabit a pretty unique space, with the work of someone like Amon Tobin possibly the closest point of reference. The EP is about to get a proper release next month via London based Abandon Building, who have added remixes by Sun Glitters, Set In Sand and Clozee, plus one from Los Angeles-based Team Supreme affiliate and Unspeakable Records founder Dot, who brings some bouncy low-end to the hyper-active title track.
