Man And Machine

Jimmy Tamborello is probably still best known the producer for The Postal Service, but he’s been making some beautifully idiosyncratic electronic music as Dntel for over two decades, and his seventh full length under the pseudonym is due for a release on the Leaving Records label run by Matthewdavid. Taking it’s title ‘Human Voice’ as a reference to the ability of machines to communicate messages much as we do, the album centers around voices that have been processed and mutated to the point where they’re just another layer in the mix, resulting in something which has been described as ‘a cast of paranoid androids lost in a complex lattice of avant-dance loops’. As you might expect, it’s a largely experimental and multi-layered affair, that occasionally touches on house and footwork rhythms, and it’s available for pre-order via Stones Throw.
