Life Between Screens

London based WotNot Music have been putting out a diverse selection of experimental club sounds from the likes of K15, Deft and JJ Mumbles for the last couple of years, and have recently expanded their perspective somewhat by delving into ambient and noise music with the multi-dimensional ‘Life Between Screens’ compilation. Curated by techno producer Manni Dee, more used to abrasive productions on Perc Trax and Black Sun, the release is aimed at encouraging listeners to ‘engage with music on a visceral level, liberating sound from its potentially functional shackles’, and takes it’s name from how the intrusion of electronic devices into our lives has affected our relationship with the consumption of music. Totaling sixteen tracks from notable artists such as Planet Mu producer Fuewa, label regular Deft, and Rush Hour favourite BNJMN, it’s an unmissable release if you’re interested in the experimental/ ambient side of electronic music.
