Sagrada Remixes

Non Projects founder Brian Allen Simon, better known as Anenon, followed up his ‘Inner Hue’ debut album with the ‘Sagrada’ long player back at the end of September. Building on the sound structures and ambient textures of its predecessor, the release saw Simon broaden his colourful, free-jazz-informed musical palette into grander, less intimate pieces that were conceived as a document to bridge the producer’s more precise studio practices with his increasingly free form and saxophone-focused live shows. The recently released ‘Sagrada Remixes’ compiles five commissioned remixes and edits to accompany the original and it’s a nicely varied, well judged collection; featuring fuzzy, low-slung electronics from Nosaj Thing cohort D. Tiberio, some nocturnal breakbeats courtesy of Afterhours, a spacious ambient beat exploration from Japanese producer Bun, a muddy mutant house music edit by Gossamer, plus the inventive interpretation from James Pants which has been getting plenty of attention. Get it for free, exclusively from the Non Projects Bandcamp.
