Late Night Endless

After hinting at a possible collaboration during a much-heralded live performance at last year’s Sónar Tokyo, the bosses of both On-U Sound and Tectonic Recordings have got together for the hugely anticipated Sherwood & Pinch studio album titled ‘Late Night Endless’. A culmination of two years work developing, re-dubbing and deconstructing material, the end result is a ten track collection which ‘finds the highest common factor between the two’s techniques, making it impossible to see where one musical personality ends and the other starts’. Touching on gritty UK Garage rhythms with ‘Music Killer (Dub)’ and ‘Gimme Some More (Tight Like That)’, interstellar old-school ambient dub in the form of ‘Wild Birds Sing’, and the mystical minimalism of Pinch’s early releases with ‘Africa 138’, the release utilises Adrian Sherwood’s deep sound vaults; bringing in vocal elements from his previous production work with artists such as Ghetto Priest, Daddy Freddy, Congo Natty, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, Bim Sherman and Skip McDonald. It’s not out until early February next year, but is definitely looking like a release to look forward to.
