Calm The Still Night

Since the debut release of the ‘Vanish’ EP back in 2012, Manchester producer and multi-instrumentalist Matt Brewer, otherwise known as Frameworks, has been garnering something of a reputation for some deeply atmospheric compositions. A ten track debut album simply titled ‘Tides’ is out shortly via First Word Records which see’s Brewer’s trademark string-heavy, instrumental hip hop productions taking centre stage and expanding into beautifully constructed cinematic jazz, folk and soul music which references beatmakers and producers such as Aim, RJD2, Cinematic Orchestra and Bonobo. Island Records signee and previous collaborator JP Cooper adds some soulful grit to two tracks, alongside Rioghnach Connolly who contributes some captivating vocals to the single ‘Calm The Still Night’ and the brooding ‘Dawn’. Blog favourite Throwing Snow has delivered a remix for the latter, which features on a Bandcamp exclusive version of the single.
