Crossing Motion

The last release on the small and perfectly formed TAKE Records was the ‘Crossing’ EP by Rick Grant (who makes up one third of the label) which has been out for a few weeks and is backed by some excellent remix work. Grant’s original track is some delicate, deep, widescreen, two-step and it gets a big sub-bass transmission from Exit Records producer Consequence, some sprawling, dubby machinations courtesy of Mr Lager, and a late night, low-slung house remix by Jack Dixon. Fellow London producer and kindred spirit James Fox recently gave away this collaborative track with Rick Grant, explaining that ‘it was going to come out on a decent deep house label from the midlands but got pulled from the release last minute’.
