Four new tracks from Marcos Ortega, otherwise known as Lorn, have been out on Ninja Tune since the beginning of the month, but the streams of the ‘Debris’EP have only recently been made available, so it would be rude not to give them at least a cursory mention. As brutally uncompromising and darkly uplifting as usual, Ortega has previously explained that the mixture of field recordings, synths, and guitars, were ran back and forth through tape and then burned on analog valves, saying that he ‘wanted them to physically sound like they were picked out of some wreckage…some lost caravan out in the desert with a crew of zero.’
