Versions Of Black Noise

Last year’s ‘Black Noise’ album by Hendrik Weber otherwise known as Pantha Du Prince was all about the notion that sound and music exists in all matter, and that even something inaudible to human ears affects our environment. The producer who shares his time between Berlin and Paris claimed the music’s purpose was to therefore ‘render audible what is unheard and unheard of’ which was a pretty original concept and it made for a techno album full of flickering, looped melodies and elegant orchestrations. A remix release ‘XI Versions of Black Noise‘ is out later this month on Rough Trade that includes interpretations from Four Tet, Animal Collective, and Walls, as well as this one from The Sight Below.[via]
