You’ll probably know about London producer Ossie from the track ‘Tarantula’ that’s been played out by virtually everyone in the last twelve months or so, and he’s about to release his debut on Hyperdub in the form of the ‘Set The Tone’ EP which includes three funkly flavoured house tracks that feature a nice juxtaposition of heavy drum rhythms and sweet jazzy melodies. The title track from the release that was actually made some time before ‘Tarantula’ sits very comfortably with more recent productions, and this might be explained by his description of his music as ‘a fusion of everything really, I use a lot of percussion and synths, which gives a vintage but current feel’.
