The second Brownswood Electr*c compilation that’s forthcoming on Gilles Peterson’s label ‘stands tall as a wisened lesson in subjectivity and experimentalism’ and features fourteen innovative productions that have been pulled from relatively new artists from all corners of the globe. As you’d expect it’s an eclectic mix of sounds that takes in emotive two-step rhythms, tearing percussive workouts, heavy head nodders, complex pitch benders, big broken chords and rolling drum patterns. A track from California producer and Non Points founder Anenon aka Brian Simon entitled ‘Shifts’ is definitely one of the more mellow offerings on there and here’s something from him.
