Evolution Of Sight

n180

After the excellent ‘Cosmology’ compilation, the Cosmic Bridge label run by the always busy Om Unit closed off last year by introducing some new blood to its roster with the ‘Posthuman’ EP by Boston, Massachusetts producer Graphs. Munich based Danny Scrilla featured heavily on the aforementioned compilation, and his new ‘True Sight’ EP which is out at the end of the month marks the label’s first release of the year. The four tracks make up Scrilla’s first stand alone release for Cosmic Bridge since the Soundsystem influenced ‘Flash Powder’ EP which featured some warped electro rhythms and bruising space-age hip hop beats, and since then his sound has obviously moved on to encompass the slow-fast, jungle and footwork leaning rhythms the label has become known for; from the heavily melodic dubwise opener ‘Helium’ and the sublime jazz-tinged tones of ‘Rigel7’, to the dirty dungeon beats of ‘Jello’ and the soaring Om Unit featuring ‘Free Flight’.
